Dear Owners;

La Cabana Beach Resort and Casino is aware of the challenges with Wi-Fi connections, and this has been the focus of our attention for the past few years.

One of the major challenges identified was the number of users that had access to our Wi-Fi causing that at certain times the connection would be extremely slow down or would cause the connection to jam.

To correct this, we decided that it was time to limit the access to basic Wi-Fi for our registered guests only and charge for additional devices and/or additional speed.

In 2019 we started with the project of running CAT6 cables in sections of rooms to address the issues that we had been encountering and improve the internet connection. We still have a small section on the South side of the building that is pending for the CAT6 cables that we plan to finish soon.

For the past few weeks, we have been working closely with local contractors to install, test, and certify the fiber optic lines, as well as AP’s and switches. That work is completed.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to provide a timeline so we can inform and plan accordingly, Setar, our local Telecommunications provider, has been experiencing issues with the Nomadix system that they have installed for interfacing the PMS with the Wi-Fi network. Setar removed the Nomadix connection yesterday and connectivity to the existing Wi-Fi was restored, while they continue to work on solving the issues with Nomadix.

Until then, we will continue with our existing Wi-Fi network which performs reasonably well throughout the resort with a few exceptions on the south side.

As soon as Setar finishes the job, we will be providing more information as to what the new Wi-Fi services will entail.

Thank you for your patience!

Sunny regards,

Management La Cabana Beach Resort and Casino.
